RELIGIONS will unite for Oldham's annual Festival of Light. The popular event will take place at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on Tuesday, December 6, starting at 6.30pm.
Oldham Inter-faith Forum has been at the forefront of bringing people of faith and no faith together and raising awareness of different faiths through organising the event annually since 2003.
This year again, Oldhamers are invited to celebrate the Festivals of Christmas (Christian), Channukah (Jewish), Deepawali (Hindu) and Mwalid-An-Nabbi (Muslim) under one roof.
It will have brass band players from Saddleworth Secondary School, dancers from Oldham Indian Association and internationally known artist Hafiz Mizan from Oldham will sing a Nasheed, a type of vocal music. There will be short explanations of each celebration and the event will end around 8.30pm with a simple buffet meal.
Entry is free and Chronicle readers can book places in advance by email from: oldhamfol@gmail.com or by clicking on Register for an Event at: www.oldhaminterfaith.org
