POLICE have today released CCTV images after a Rolex was stolen from a shop in Oldham.

Shortly after noon on Wednesday, June 22, a man went into the Discount Second-hand Jewellers at Town Square Shopping Centre and, pretending to be a prospective customer, asked to look at a watch.

Another man acted as lookout outside the shop while the man inside snatched a Rolex, worth £14,000, from the member of staff and ran out of the shop. Both men then fled on foot.

The man in the shop is described as white, 6ft tall, in his early 30s, of stocky build and had short, dark hair.

He spoke with a Liverpudlian accent and was wearing a white polo shirt with denim pockets on the sleeve, blue jeans, and black trainers.

The other man is described as white, in his early 30s, of stocky build and was wearing a blue jacket and a baseball cap.

Police launched an investigation and have now released CCTV images of two men they want to speak to in connection with the theft.

Detective Constable Gareth Gwilliam, of GMP's Oldham Borough, said: "I appreciate that this happened in June and it may be difficult to recall that day, but we now have clear CCTV images of two men we want to speak to and I'm hoping someone recognises them.

"I would urge you to take a close look at the images and if you recognise either of the men please get in touch with police."
