DRESS up Silly for Santa Action Oldham Fund - this year they're also doing animal dress-ups and asking for selfies
SEASONAL silliness will be spreading across the borough on December 16.
Action Oldham Fund are challenging businesses, schools, community groups and residents to deck out in jolly jumpers, reindeer antlers or that elf suit you've just been dying to wear for this year's "Dress up Silly for Santa" day.
Everyone who takes part is asked to donate £2 to the charity which supports good causes throughout Oldham.
Clare Taylor, Action Oldham Fundraiser said: "It's a great chance to spread some Christmas cheer, have fun and make a difference to local lives.
"All the money raised is spent right here in Oldham, helping local good causes to make a difference to vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals, children and young people.
The Chronicle and Revolution 96.2 is supporting the event and will be covering on the day.
"Last year we raised £1,600 thanks to the 24 businesses, groups and schools that joined in. This year we are aiming to raise even more. We are looking for more than 50 organisations to get on board."
Every business, school or group that registers is sent a fundraising pack including a badge to award for the best dressed #SillySanta in your organisation.
The overall winner for 2016 is chosen from social media shares.
Last year it was "Emma the Christmas tree", from Home Instead.
This year there's also an additional category for animals, so make sure you get those pet-elfie-selfies in too.
To register and receive a fundraising pack email susan.pownall@actionto gether.org.uk or call 0161-339 2345.
