A LORRY got stuck in the mud near Saddleworth yesterday morning.
Emergency vehicles arrived at the scene in Ripponden Road where an Olof-Mega Travel Trailer had got into trouble while reversing.
Police and a vehicle breakdown truck were parked beside the lay-by, just before the road reaches the M62, at around 11am.
Middleton resident Lee Hathaway who saw the unfortunate episode said in a Tweet: "Erm I think I'll just park my 40-tonne truck on mud on Saddleworth."
He branded the driver "dozy" after noticing the lorry at the start of his journey to Bradford.
Mr Hathaway added: "He had backed in but went over the mud.
"It was on the verge of tipping over.
"They had a vehicle breakdown truck to drag him out of the mud when I went passed.
"He was obviously trying to park in the lay-by, missed it and got stuck."
