Professional Oldham hosts networking at historic chapel

NEW networking group Professional Oldham holds its second gathering on Thursday, October 13, at George Street Chapel events centre, from 6pm to 8pm.

Guests will be shown around the unique Grade II* listed building at 58-65 George Street in Oldham town centre.

Dating from 1815, it has been beautifully restored and adapted by Age UK Oldham for business, social, education and heritage events. It includes a beautiful gallery and organ, and restored basement dwellings.

The venue is near Spindles Shopping Centre car park and the King Street and Oldham Central tram stops.

The evening will be sponsored by Oldham-based Limetree Public Relations, which is celebrating its tenth year in business. Director Bridget Batty will outline Limetree's work and development.

She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and sits on the organisation's north west board.

Professional Oldham was launched earlier this year to provide quality, enjoyable networking opportunities for local businesses without the pressure for referrals or sales.

It is being partnered by Oldham Business Edge magazine, published by the Oldham Chronicle.

Organisers are Robbie MacDonald of Oldham Business Edge magazine and the Oldham Evening Chronicle, Suzanne Wright of Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers, Bridget Batty of Limetree PR, Stephanie Doherty of Caremark Oldham and Angela Higham of Dr Kershaw's Hospice.

The group's first event was a wine-tasting evening in July with Oldham wine writer Simon Woods at the Naked Bean cafe near Oldham Library.
