LOCAL firms are being warned the deadline for nominations and expressions of interest for May’s 2016 Oldham Business Awards is now Friday, December 11 (updated).
A number of sponsors are reminding businesses about the deadline and emphasising the benefits of entering, sponsoring and attending the event on May 13.
The awards celebrate the success of all firms based in the borough — while also recognising the wider contribution they make to society.
Being nominated can inspire and motivate staff, show how much employers value their team members and make them feel part of a company’s success.
One of the award sponsors is Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers.
Michael Pitt, a Pearson partner, said: “The awards celebrate success but also recognise the contribution businesses make in the development of Oldham. Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers is once again proud to be supporting them.
“The awards are about everything that is successful in Oldham. We have some amazing, well-established businesses on our doorstep but what is also inspiring is seeing up-and-coming new businesses emerging and former start-ups growing and developing over the years.
“Oldham is changing and looking forward and business is moving with it. Gaining recognition at prestigious award events like this certainly puts the icing on the cake for every successful business.”
Another sponsor is Innovative Technology. The company is a global market leader in designing and manufacturing automated coin and banknote validation equipment for the international gaming, amusement, vending, retail and kiosk industries.
Aidan Towey, Innovative Technology’s managing director, said: “We are proud to sponsor the Oldham Business Awards, celebrating the achievement of local businesses.
“As an Oldham-based company ourselves, we are keen to attract skilled people into Oldham. The business awards help publicise the area’s successes, which is a bonus for our own recruitment.”
Other award sponsors include O2, Santander Bank, Oldham Business Leadership Group, the Oldham Chronicle and Oldham College.
Being shortlisted and winning an award can help enhance awareness and reputation of businesses, staff recruitment and retention.
Awards success can also boost tendering bids for national and international contracts.
In addition to nominations, organisers are highlighting the sponsorship and hospitality opportunities linked the awards ceremony at the Queen Elizabeth Hall next May.
Booking a table can give clients a night to remember, rekindle client relationships, create new business opportunities and increase a business’s impact.
