FATBOY Trims, a new business set up by hairdresser Emrys Hallin 12 months ago, has cut it so well that turnover has doubled.
Emrys, who used to be in Oldham centre before relocating to a salon facing the market ground in Shaw, has taken on his son Connor as a trainee and now his partner Louise Glynn has joined the business.
For the past seven years Louise has run the Lads and Dads business in Ripponden Road, Moorside, but now moved in with Emrys to create a fully unisex salon.
“This is something we have been looking to do for some time now and so far the move has gone well.
“In addition to my turnover doubling in the 12 months since I opened, Louise has found that many of her loyal customers have followed her to Shaw,” said Emrys.
And the name? Well, it was a nickname that stuck, admits Emrys, who has quite taken to the moniker and has no intention of changing his brand.
“It’s a great name for a family business and that’s exactly what we will be once Connor has completed his training and is also part of the salon,” Emrys added.
