THE next Professional Oldham networking event will be a spring barbecue on Thursday, May 4, at Dr Kershaw's Hospice.
The social gathering from 6pm is being sponsored by Dr Kershaw's Hospice, and includes food and drinks.
Professional Oldham is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to provide quality, enjoyable networking opportunities for businesses in the area without the pressure for referrals or sales.
It was launched last year and organisers include Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers, Dr Kershaw's Hospice, Limetree PR, Caremark and Oldham Business Edge magazine, published quarterly by the Oldham Evening Chronicle.
Lisa Pearson, from Dr Kershaw's, said: "We're really looking forward to the Professional Oldham barbecue, and have plans for good and bad weather.
"We want to highlight just how much goes on at Dr Kershaw's.
"Many people may think they know what hospices do. However we think they will be in for a few surprises.
"Visitors can meet staff and volunteers, and discover the countless ways that we help people across the borough. This includes our Hospice at Home service."
Previous Professional Oldham social events have included a wine tasting at the Naked Bean Cafe, next to Oldham Library, a tour of the historic Grade II-listed George Street Chapel, which is now an events and heritage centre, and a visit to the new Odeon cinema development inside Oldham's regenerated old town hall.
Admission for the Dr Kershaw's event will be £10 per person.
Payment should be made in advance or on the night. Registration is required in advance.
