CHRONICLE media group advertising sales manager Andrew Whitehead
THE Oldham Evening Chronicle media group has appointed Andrew Whitehead as advertising manager for digital and print services.
Mr Whitehead (48) has rejoined the independently-owned business after working in public relations and event management.
He first worked for the Chronicle from 2001-2009, when he worked with local businesses to promote their products and services with the right advertisement content and design.
Speaking about his new position, he said: "I'm delighted to be taking on this role.
"The Chronicle has always been the hub for local information about businesses, jobs, cars and home services. It's a highly-trusted name with a 160-year history.
"Today, the Chronicle is diversifying across media platforms to engage with different audiences.
"We offer advertisers a wide range of print and digital campaigns, tailored to suit their needs; everything from professional copywriting, design and photography to web and social media content and campaigns."
Mr Whitehead's experience includes managing events such as the Oldham and Rochdale business awards, to sport and community awards, gala dinners and town centre markets.
He grew up in Royton and is a former Oldham College student whose father, Kedrick, was a photographer with the Chronicle for 50 years.
Now, he is helping to expand the Chronicle group's range of products and services.
He said: "As well as our print and digital newspaper editions, we publish free newspapers in Oldham, Saddleworth, Tameside and Rochdale and our two education magazines, The Knowledge and Knowledge Primary are very successfully carrying on the popularity of their glossy sister magazine, Oldham Business Edge, which was highly commended in last year's 02 North West Media Awards."
