THE next monthly community of St Chad coffee morning is in support of WaterAid. Entry is £2 at the St Chad Parish Centre, Station Road, Uppermill, from 10 to 11.30am on Saturday, March 5.


HELP Street Scene Greenfield spruce up the area’s canal towpaths. Volunteers are cleaning debris, cutting back vegetation and resurfacing areas with stone as well as repainting lock gates along the Huddersfield Narrow Canal. The next dates are Saturday, March 5, and Thursday, March 17. For more information contact Gill McCulley on 01457-870 364.


THE world famous Black Dyke Band play the civic hall, Uppermill, tomorrow. The brass band, who are current European champions, will be appearing from 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £14 (concessions £13) are available now from post offices across Saddleworth or by calling Phil Beckwith on 07976-165 815.


A LIVE jazz night is held every Friday at Delph Band Club. All are welcome to the weekly event from 8pm onwards.


A WINE and cheese night is taking place at Dobcross Band Club tomorrow. The event, led by wine writer, speaker and consultant Simon Woods, takes place from 8pm — entry is £5.


ENJOY coffee mornings with the Scouthead and Austerlands Community Association on the third Thursday of each month at the Three Crowns Inn and Restaurant, Huddersfield Road, from 10.30am to 12.30pm, including a raffle.


PICK up a treat at the Farmers’ Market in Uppermill Square on the second Sunday of each month from 9am to 2pm. The market boasts a collection of mouth-watering produce from local suppliers, including cheeses and pies. It has temporarily moved from its base at Saddleworth Museum while renovation works are carried out.
