GET into the Christmas spirit at St Chad Parish Centre, Station Road, Uppermill, next Wednesday, at 7.30pm, when the St Chad Flower Guild present Humbug Christmas — a flower demonstration by Dorothy and Hazel.
Admission is £5, including a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie.
IMPROVEMENT work is underway at Saddleworth Medical Practice, Uppermill, from now until to January 18, 2016. Machinery and other building equipment will be stored on the car park adjacent to the practice so patients are advised to plan extra time for parking before appointments.
TEMPORARY traffic lights are operating at Denshaw crossroads on Oldham Road while repairs are carried out to a retaining wall on the A672 Oldham Road. The four-way lights will be in place until December 23.
PICK UP a treat at the Farmers Market in Uppermill Square on the second Sunday of every month, from 9am to 2pm. It has temporarily moved from its base at Saddleworth Museum while renovation works are carried out.
SADDLEWORTH Musical Society and Diggle School are staging a Christmas concert on Sunday, December 13, at the Civic Hall, Uppermill, at 7pm. Tickets are available from Celebrations, in Lees, and Turners Dry Cleaners, in Uppermill, or call 01457-874922.
COFFEE afternoons are being held at Christ Church, Friezland, every Thursday from 2 to 4pm.
Coffee morning
THE Scouthead and Austerlands Community Association holds a coffee morning on the third Thursday of each month at the Three Crowns Inn, Huddersfield Road, from 10.30am to 12.30pm, including a raffle.
