Clean-up day

A COMMUNITY clear-up day is taking place on Saturday to prepare a new community gardening space.
Reclamation Room, Lee Street, Uppermill will open soon offering workshops, a cafe, shop and a gardening space behind the building. From 10am-3.30pm people are invited to help with a spot of gardening to prepare the grounds. Call Louise Dinh on 07525857329 if you are interested.
ZION Methodist Church, Lees, is hosting a musical evening on Saturday, September 12, featuring cabaret singer David Noble. The event is to raise funds for the church and will start at 7.30pm. Admission is £6.
GIVE blood at Uppermill Civic Hall, Lee Street, Uppermill on Wednesday from 1-3.30pm and 5-7.30pm.
SADDLEWORTH Creative Network presents the Autumn Handmade Festival this month. Running on Saturday, September 12, and the following day, from 11am-4pm, the festival will be held at Uppermill Civic Hall and entry is free.
THE Saddleworth Food and Drink Festival 2015 is to be held on October 10-11 at Uppermill Civic Hall from 11am-4pm. Entry is free.
LYDGATE Band is holding a flea market at Uppermill Civic Hall on Sunday, September 27, from 10am-3pm. Entrance is 50p with accompanied children admitted free. A few stalls are still available and if interested ring 01457 873048 for further details.
JOHN Garforth, Oldham Council’s Trading Standards and Licensing manager, will attend Saddleworth Homewatch’s next meeting on Wednesday, September 16, at 7.45pm. Held at Uppermill Conservative Club, his talk will include control of opening hours, prevention of crime, public safety, public nuisance and child protection in connection with his role.
