Roughyeds mourn loss of Brian and Sue

Rest in peace Brian Hatherell and Sue Done
Everyone at Roughyeds is mourning the deaths of Brian Hatherell, a talented former scrum-half at Oldham, and lifelong fan Sue Done.
Older fans will vividly remember Brian as a determined scrum-half in the late 1950s.
In his time at Watersheddings, 1958 to 1961, Brian’s surname was always given as Hatherall, but it now appears that it was, in fact, Hatherell.
Thanks to his daughter Carol for confirming that.
Brian joined Oldham from Leigh Colts ahead of the 1958-59 season and played in 16 league games, plus the 1959 Law Cup game against Hornets, making 17 in total, plus a whole lot more in the ‘A’ team over his three seasons at the club - 58-59, 59-60, 60-61.
Meanwhile, led by chairman Chris Hamilton, everyone at Roughyeds sends sincere condolences to the family and friends of life-long fan Sue, who, over many years, became well known to and a good friend to a lot of supporters.
For many years also she had a Club Cash lottery collection round, knocking on doors in the Chadderton area to bring in vital funds for the club.
Said Club Cash administrator John McAndrew: “Sue’s passing is a big loss to the club.
"She only finished as a lottery collector when it became too much for her.
"She loved Oldham Rugby and could always be relied on to come up trumps if she was ever asked to do anything for the club.”
Sue, who had watched Roughyeds since she was a child, lived in Chadderton.
