Roughyeds have snapped up Lewis Sheridan
Oldham Rugby League Club has swooped to sign 28-year-old half-back Lewis Sheridan from derby rivals Rochdale Hornets.
One of Betfred League One's top points scorers in recent years, Sheridan has signed a one-year deal with Roughyeds in the hope of linking up at half-back with Oldham's captain and chief organiser Martyn Ridyard.
"I pride myself on my try-scoring ability and I'm hoping to help out Oldham in that department," said Sheridan, a product of the Rochdale Mayfield community club.
Describing Sheridan as an "exciting" attacking half, Roughyeds boss Stu Littler said he was building a squad that would be good enough to make a real impression in 2023.
Oldham have so far announced that ten players are contracted for next season, including newcomers Jordan Paga (utility back), Patrick Ah Van (wing or centre) and now Sheridan (half-back).
