Oldham RL Club has re-signed utility forward James Thornton (27), on a one-year contract.
A Yorkshireman who lives in Dewsbury, Thornton played in 20 of Oldham's 22 games last season and his six tries made him the club's top forward try scorer.
He is signing No 8 for the 2023 Betfred League One season, including new boys Patrick Ah Van, a winger with five international caps for Samoa, and Jordan Paga, a young utility back from Hunslet.
Oldham boss Stuart Littler said of Thornton: "He works hard, with a superb attitude, and he's very much a team player.
"He talks well in the dressing room and he always puts the emphasis on 'we' rather than 'me' ".
