Meanwhile, Roughyeds head coach Stu Littler, 43-years young and involved in rugby league since he was a small boy, brought out his boots again to play for Leigh All-Stars in a charity match to raise money for the well-known charity “Life For A Kid".

The former Leigh, Salford and Swinton centre star, ex-Swinton Lions’ and Ireland head coach, now head coach at Roughyeds and half way through a two-year deal, turned out for Leigh All-Stars against a Rugby League All-Stars side at Leigh Miners.

The game raised between £4,500 and £5,000 for the charity, which has close links with the RFL and raises much-needed money for children with special needs.
