Dangerous contact charge and ban for Rogers

Rogers has been fined £250 after pleading guilty to a grade D charge of dangerous contact
Fenton Rogers, the 18-year-old local lad who played for Roughyeds at Sheffield Eagles on August 15 while on loan from Huddersfield Giants, has received a five-match ban from the RFL Disciplinary body.
He has also been fined £250 after pleading guilty to a grade D charge of dangerous contact.
In line with club procedure on all disciplinary matters of this nature, there will be no comment from Oldham.
The son of Wes Rogers, a former Oldham, Widnes Vikings, Rochdale Hornets and Swinton Lions player, Fenton was on loan at Oldham as a young prop-forward to the end of the season, but as Roughyeds have only four games left anyway, his stay with the club effectively comes to an end.
In the game in question the former Saddleworth Rangers youngster was on the bench in his first game for Oldham and in his first taste of senior rugby outside the age-group game.
He was sin-binned in the second half.
Rogers himself suffered a head injury later in the game and he is currently undergoing RFL protocols for players who suffer that type of head knock.
Tickets for Oldham's clash at Bower Fold on Sunday with second-placed Featherstone Rovers (3pm) are on sale online now.
Under-16s go FREE, otherwise it's normal admission prices, which range from £15 (concessions, standing) to £19 (adults sitting).
