Latics drew 1-1 at York last night
Latics were pegged back at York City last night as they were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw thanks to Will Davies's equaliser.
Micky Mellon's play-off chasing visitors - roared on by over a thousand travelling fans - opened the scoring when Mike Fondop struck after an hour following a period of pressure.
But Davies levelled 10 minutes later to ensure the hosts took a point and dented Latics' play-off hopes.
The Latics dropped down to seventh in the National League table, to sit just a point ahead of Altrincham.
Boss Mellon said: "We fought hard. We weren't at our best but we definitely fought and defended and our shape was good and we showed all those qualities that are needed over a season in order to pick up results."
Latics return to action at Boundary Park on Saturday when they host Kidderminster as fans are due to welcome back Atlantic rowing hero chairman Frank Rothwell.
