Josh Stones has seen his loan deal from Wigan cut short
Latics have confirmed that Kieron Freeman has left the club following the conclusion of his contract.
The 31-year-old joined Latics at the start of the season on a contract until January, making ten appearances during the first part of the campaign.
A bigger blow comes with the news that striker Josh Stones has seen his loan deal from Wigan cut short after he was ruled out for up to three months with a foot injury sustained in his last game for Latics.
The talented young hit-man, who has had a huge impact in just a short time at Boundary Park, scored the opener in a 2-0 win over Hartlepool United on Saturday, but was forced off before half-time.
A scan has since revealed ligament damage that Wigan boss Shaun Maloney expects to take up to 12 weeks to heal.
He has returned to his parent club for treatment.
Meanwhile, Latics' Kofi Moore will resume his loan at Guiseley for the remainder of the season.
The 19-year-old was recalled from his previous loan at Nethermoor Park last month and featured in Latics' National League fixture against Gateshead, as well as being an unused substitute at Solihull.
He has previously had a successful spell at Workington this season before originally moving to Guiseley in November.
“We recalled Kofi in December as an extra attacking option but as availability in those areas change, we have been able to allow him to return," said Latics boss Micky Mellon.
