Latics' in-form 'keeper Magnus Norman has been called up to the provisional England C squad for their fixture against Wales C at the end of the month.
Norman has been recognised for his fine performances in recent months by the England National League System ahead of the annual friendly on Tuesday, March 21.
The fixture will take place at Altrincham's Moss Lane, with the final squad confirmed following fixtures on March 11.
Having joined from Carlisle United in the summer, Norman has played every minute of every league game this season, and has built up a reputation of being a great penalty saver.
The England C team was founded in 1979, and selects its player from the National League and below.
Previously the team was limited to Under-24s, but this rule was lifted in recent years.
Paul Fairclough has been the team’s manager since 2003, having previously held roles at Barnet and Stevenage.
Last year they took on Wales C at Moss Lane, with the Dragons running out 4-0 winners.
This year’s clash will also be hosted at Moss Lane, with the provisional squad consisting of 25 players, including three goalkeepers.
