Latics hoping to build on New Year's Day performance

Latics will be hoping to build on their encouraging performance against leaders Notts County when they travel to mid-table Dorking in the National League tomorrow (Saturday).
David Unsworth's men gave fans renewed hope as they drew 2-2 with the Magpies on New Year's Day, a result and a point which lifted Latics out of the fifth tier drop zone.
Latics could do with stringing a run of positive results together after winning just twice since Unsworth replaced John Sheridan back in September.
Unsworth said: "Dorking got beat last weekend so they will be smarting, it’s a plastic pitch, but the players can take some confidence from New Year’s Day into that game now.
“I’ll be reiterating the level of performance, the level of game plan.
"We are going down there with some confidence.”
Dorking have done well in their first campaign at this level.
They currently sit in 15th place in the National League standings.
Last weekend's 4-0 loss at Eastleigh was their first in four matches.
