Latics Trophy tie is OFF
Date published: 16 December 2022
Latics' scheduled match tomorrow is off
Latics' home FA Trophy third round fixture against Peterborough Sports tomorrow has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.
Groundstaff undertook an exceptional amount of work to ensure last Sunday's game against Torquay went ahead.
Unfortunately, the pitch started to freeze towards the end of the game, and as a result of the cold weather, the frost has been unable to melt.
Under FA competition rules, FA Trophy fixtures take precedent over league fixtures.
Consequently, David Unsworth's men will now play Peterborough Sports on Tuesday (December 20), meaning the National League fixture against Gateshead has been postponed.
Tickets purchased will remain valid for the rearranged fixture.
