Latics' young midfielder Harry Vaughan has joined Radcliffe on a one-month youth loan.
The 18-year-old joins the Northern Premier League side until January 13 in order to gain regular football after showcasing his potential in previous seasons.
Manager David Unsworth sees the loan as a benefitial move for the youngster's continued development.
The Latics boss said: "Harry is currently on the periphery but he's a young lad and young players need to go out and play games, I'm big on that.
"He's still going to train with us every day but he's going to get some games with their first team which is vital.
"You can't replicate a competitive match, that's why it's good for young players to go out on loan."
Over the past two seasons, playmaker Vaughan has made 32 appearances, scoring one goal after becoming another successful youth team graduate.
The teenager signed a two-year deal, with the option of a third, in June, 2021, after he showcased his technical ability towards the back end of the 2020/21 Sky Bet League Two campaign.
He joins former Latics players Bobby Grant and Nicky Adams at Stainton Park as he looks to help fire the club into the play-off places.
The loan move presents the next stage in Vaughan’s development as he looks to make an impact over the course of the next month, with regular game time in adult football.
Latics are next scheduled to be in action on Saturday in a home FA Trophy third round tie against Peterborough Sports.
However, freezing temperatures are forecasted to continue well into the weekend, so that fixture could be in doubt.
