Tommy Wright has now officially left his position as First Team Coach at Latics following the news on Friday that Francis Jeffers had been appointed to the role.
Latics added in a statement: "Wright, who returned to Latics with John Sheridan in January, departs following the recent change in management.
"The 56-year-old remains a hugely respected figure at Boundary Park for a number of spells with the club, initially as a player, making 140 appearances during two periods in the 1980s.
"He later worked as a coach under Lee Johnson and Sheridan, developing a close working relationship with the latter and returning to the club midway through last campaign.
"Like Sheridan, Wright will always have a special place in the affections of everyone at Boundary Park.
"We’d like to thank Tommy for all his work at the club and wish him the very best for the future."
