Wins in Round One and Two have set up the tie against the Cherries.
There’ll be no Premier League giant killing for Oldham in the third round of the FA Cup this season but they will host a former top division side.
AFC Bournemouth will make the long trip from the south coast to Greater Manchester for the tie at Boundary Park with a place in the fourth round of the oldest knockout cup competition in world at stake.
The Cherries are adjusting to life in the Championship rather well after relegation from the Premier League last season, which brought to an end Eddie Howe’s second spell in charge of the club.
Currently they sit second in the Championship table and only lost once in the month of November, at Sheffield Wednesday back on the 3rd of the month.
Last time out they came from behind to draw 2-2 at Rotherham United.
The winners of the third-round tie at Boundary Park, which will be played behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 restrictions, will receive £82,000 from the Football Association and be in the famous velvet bag for the fourth round.
The game is due to take place during the week of 8th and 11th of January.
