A whole host of clubs are understood to be interested in the 21-year old
After weeks of speculation about which club Oldham Athletic defender George Edmundson would go to, Rangers have finally put their money where their mouth is.
The former Scottish Premier League Champions have tabled a bid below Latics asking price of between £450,000 and £500,000.
Revolution News understands bosses at Boundary Park have rejected the offer but would consider a higher offer if Rangers came back.
The club, which is managed by former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard, are understood to be a number of teams interested in securing the services of Edmundson who still have one year left to run on his current deal.
It’s been a standout year for the 21-year old, who came through the ranks of Oldham’s academy before making his first team debut back in 2015.
During the last campaign he played in 54 games for Latics, mostly alongside veteran defender Peter Clarke.
However it appears he has now played his last game for Oldham with clubs such as Preston North End, Stoke City, Hull City and Portsmouth all interested in signing him.
