Aaron Amadi-Holloway has joined Shrewsbury
Athletic striker Aaron Amadi-Holloway has joined Sky Bet League One side Shrewsbury Town for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old, who signed permanently for Athletic in January 2017, scored four goals in 57 appearances for the club.
Amadi-Holloway has signed a two-year deal with the Shrews and becomes John Askey’s fifth permanent signing of the summer.
He has also enjoyed spells with the likes of Wycombe Wanderers and Fleetwood Town in the past, and he is looking to make an impact at the Montgomery Waters Meadow.
"I’m very happy to be here,” said Amadi-Holloway.
“We got it done today and I can’t wait to get going.
“Last year wasn’t so good with Oldham getting relegated but now is a new challenge.
“I know the club want to go higher and hopefully help with that.
“This morning I went to the stadium. It’s very nice; I’ve been there before so I already knew it was a good stadium.
“It’s the first time I’ve been to the training facilities and it’s only a year old and it looks it, it’s very good.”
Amadi-Holloway had to bide his time before getting chances ahead of Eoin Doyle and Craig Davies last season, but hopes to make more of an impact with Shrewsbury.
“Last year was a difficult season for me and the team obviously,” Amadi-Holloway said.
“We had a couple of strikers who were doing really well so I couldn’t complain too much. It was hard to argue with the fact they were playing.
“I just got on with it, came of the bench and did what I could for the team but this season I definitely need to be playing games and getting myself in the starting 11.
“There is so many things I need to develop and improve on but I still think the main way I’m going to do that is by playing games and that’s why I’ve come here.”
