Athletic host MK Dons on the opening day of the 2018/19 campaign
Athletic’s new manager Frankie Bunn now knows who he will face on the opening day of the 2018/19 League Two season as his side kick-off the new campaign on home soil.
Milton Keynes Dons, one of the clubs who came down from League One at the end of last season with Athletic, will be the visitors to Boundary Park when the season begins on Saturday, August 4.
That’s then followed up with a long trip to Forest Green Rovers on the 11th.
Next up for Athletic at Boundary Park will be a visit from one their close rivals on Saturday, August 18, when newly-promoted Macclesfield Town make the short trip from Cheshire.
Elsewhere the fixture computer has landed some tricky journeys for Athletic fans, including heading to Yeovil Town on Tuesday, August 21.
They’ll also be away from home on Boxing Day but prior to that they face one of the big derbies of the season when Bury visit Boundary Park on Saturday, December 15.
Then it’s Carlisle United away on 26th before a trip to Port Vale rounds off 2018.
Notts County will provide the opposition on New Year’s Day at Boundary Park, with Bunn's men travelling to MK Dons on Saturday, January 5, should they already be knocked out of the FA Cup.
That competition gets underway for Oldham on Saturday, November 10, when they enter at the first-round stage.
Athletic will travel to Bury on Saturday, February 23.
The Easter run of games continues with Athletic travelling to Cheltenham Town on Good Friday (April 19), before hosting Mansfield Town on Easter Monday (April 22).
They’ll finish the season off with a visit from Northampton Town, mirroring their final game of last season when they travelled to Sixfields.
A full list of who Oldham Athletic will play and when can be found on the club's official website.
