LIFE-SAVING care under high stress is the reason accident and emergency staff at the Royal Oldham Hospital have been nominated for a Pride in Oldham award.
Working under extreme pressure, the expert team of doctors and nurses is always on call.
Chris Ransted, an A&E porter at the Royal Oldham Hospital for the past two years, knows first hand the hard work of nursing staff.
Former Pride in Oldham winner ris, from Shaw, said: “I nominated all the A&E nursing staff because they go above and beyond the call of duty, day in and day out.
“The general public doesn’t see that work and the care they give every patient. They are kind-hearted men and women working in a stressful environment and they put in such hard graft.
“The goals they have to reach on a daily basis are astounding. Everyone does a wonderful job and they really deserve a Pride in Oldham nomination.”
Dr Tom Leckie, a consultant in emergency medicine at the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “It is a great honour and a privilege for the Royal Oldham Hospital A&E team to be nominated
“It is very satisfying and humbling that the continued hard work and dedication of all the staff has been recognised.”
