DALLAS BAKER
PROFESSIONAL carer Dallas Baker regularly goes above and beyond what her role asks of her - but the modest mum of two insists she is just doing her job.
In the four years she has been looking after Gary Rowbottom (51), who is registered blind, is disabled and has diabetes, she has endeavoured to help him look after himself properly and make him more independent. And it is something that Gary really values, saying she always puts herself before others and never gives up on anyone.
OCL HEALTH AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY TEAM
BOOSTING health and wellbeing without relying on medication is the focus of the Oldham Community Leisure (OCL) Health and Physical Activity Team. The dedicated team help Oldham residents with specialist conditions improve their fitness, regain their independence and reduce their visits to the doctors surgery. Through their hard work and commitment, the team is helping residents take control of their lives and ease the burden on NHS services.
PENNINE MEDICAL CENTRE
A 'FIRST CLASS' GP surgery is a finalist in the Health category after a long-standing patient described staff in all departments as 'brilliant'.
Pennine Medical Centre, which has surgeries in Greenfield and Mossley, has been Marlene Maclean's local doctor for over 50 years and she cannot fault the team of doctors, receptionists and clerical staff.
