Tilly, a flat coat retriever is the first dog at County Ends vets, Lees, to get a brand new non invasive treatment for detecting intestinal problems called Alicam. This involves the dog swallowing a tablet that contains four cameras with LED lights and a memory chip, to record images. This tablet then passes through the animal. DIANA'S SANDWICH BAR
CUSTOMERS are keen to dish up high praise for Diana's Sandwich Bar in Tommyfield Market where staff offer much-loved regulars a comfortable, caring and homely atmosphere.
Dynamic duo Martha Want and Kim Shaw, who work at the cafe, take great pride in looking after their elderly customers, knowing all their orders and ensuring no request is too much trouble.
The pair, who received multiple nominations for a Pride in Oldham award, were also praised for staying with an elderly customer who became unwell until the ambulance arrived.
SHAW AUTOPOINT
GREAT service and 'brilliant' customer care has resulted in Shaw Autopoint reaching the finals of the Business category.
Carol Simkiss nominated the company for helping her 79-year-old mother Norma Sanderson with all her automobile needs, undertaking small jobs at no extra charge and going the extra mile.
Garage owner Chris Hodson, who set up the business in 2004, said the service provided to Mrs Sanderson was something he and his three members of staff give to all his customers.
COUNTY END VETERINARY PRACTICE
PIONEERING diagnostic techniques provided at a Lees-based vets is just one of the reasons County End Veterinary Practice has reached the finals of the Pride in Oldham awards.
Not only do services include new Alicam technology to diagnose intestinal problems in dogs, the practice provides exceptional care for animals and regularly updates worried owners on their animals wellbeing.
Janet Allen, from Springhead, praised the vets in her nomination and said the care they provided went above and beyond what was expected.
