PEER MENTORS - SADDLEWORTH SCHOOL
A NEW peer mentor scheme at Saddleworth School has proved an A* project.
Launched in April, 2015, the school originally expected 20 students to sign up but instead found that 80 students in year 9,10 and 11 were passionate about helping their peers.
In just over a year, the students have taken part in a series of projects including anti-bullying events, a kindness challenge, teacher training sessions on bullying, and a peer reading scheme. They have been praised for their hard work and their willingness to help and support others.
SPRING BROOK SCHOOL
RESILIENCE and determination is what the talented team of teachers and teaching assistants at Spring Brook School have in abundance.
The primary teaches children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties and helps the most vulnerable children in Oldham discover their love of learning.
Determined to give students aged five to 11 the best start in life, school staff regularly go above and beyond what is called of them to engage children in education.
LIMEHURST PRIMARY
AN international project has seen children at Limehurst Primary experience life in a school in China.
As one of only two state primary schools in the country to run a similar exchange trip, year 5 youngsters had to undergo a rigorous selection process before five were chosen to travel to Youfu Primary School in Nanjing with Limehurst staff.
The pupils, who were praised for their exceptional behaviour, shared their experiences with fellow students and teachers.
