MyColdhurst and it’s dedicated team of volunteers has continued to be pro-active during these difficult times.
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected each community throughout the country and around the world.
The MyColdhurst group has temporarily postponed its monthly litter picks, and also its other community activities including weekly football coaching for ages nine to 14.
The safety of volunteers and the residents in our community is clearly very important during these unprecedented times.
A MyColdhurst spokesperson said: "We have in place strict measures to protect our volunteers that include social distancing and the cumpolsory wearing of face masks and rubber gloves (that are provided) whilst undertaking any voluntary tasks during the pandemic.
"The volunteers have, however, still continued to make a difference to the community of Oldham.
"In partnership with Action Oldham and Forever Manchester and other local charities including mosques and churches, we have provided an emergency food essential packs delivery service to the vulnerable and residents in need during this pandemic, particularly the elderly, unemployed, redundant, single parents on benefits, etc.
"The food parcels contain over 20 household items that include rice, pasta, oil, sugar, tea, hand sanitizers, washing up liquid, tuna, and other food items that should help support a typical family of three/four persons for a week.
"Our support started in May 2020 and has reached out to all sections of the community in Oldham, regardless of background and culture.
"If you live in Oldham and could benefit from this support please contact us ASAP.
"We have also worked closely with the Oldham Council foodbank programme ans other statutory organisations to help support the vulnerable, and aim to deliver a pack on the same day of contact, and at the latest by two days.
"As of June 21, we had successfully delivered nearly 300 food parcels.
"Strict confidentiality is at the heart of our community interaction and the details of all supported are not shared on social media for example.
"There is a strict no pictures policy.
"Our aim is to continue with the programme during the month of July with a further review towards the end.
"As we come out during the Covid-19 recovery period in the coming weeks, we will assess the resumption of all our regular activities, including monthly litter picks, in line with government guidance and will provide dates once it is safe to do so."
