'Saddleworth in Lockdown' shows the eerie difference lockdown has made to many of the villages and landmarks
Uppermill-based photographer Tim Simpson has captured some amazingly tranquil weekend scenes in his latest project, highlighting the effects the coronavirus lockdown has had on local neighbourhoods.
Entitled 'Saddleworth in Lockdown', Tim's pictures - taken on weekend evenings when the social scene would normally be buzzing and packed with people - show the eerie difference lockdown has made to many of the villages and landmarks.
Tim said: "Like so many of us, lockdown has given me the opportunity to maybe diversify and explore other avenues.
"Working as a busy food, automotive, wedding and portrait photographer doesn't often give me the time to simply wander around the streets with my camera, so I really enjoyed this personal project.
"Certainly the great weather we have been having recently would have seen the streets and bars of Saddleworth extremely full at weekends so it was very eerie, especially at the beginning to be the only person out in the evenings."
