Greenhouses are the future!
Date published: 12 December 2018
Greenhouses really can become a status symbol
It would seem that greenhouses are no longer the exclusive preserve of elderly men with pipes and wellies pottering with trowels.
In 2019 they’re just as likely to be used for parties and entertaining as younger families admit they see them, not just as a route to healthier and eco-friendly living, but as luxury lifestyle accessories.
Al that is according to locally-based Hartley Botanic, who have shared their predictions for how their greenhouses and glasshouses will be enjoyed in 2019 based on recent customer behaviour.
The trends, which have been released at the end of Hartley Botanic’s 80th anniversary year, reveal how modern gardeners are using greenhouses within their gardens, their most important motivations for ownership and the most in demand styles and designs.
There are six trend predictions. They are:
Trend 1: Greenhouses being used to serve organic, veg-based diets
Trend 2: Greenhouses as multipurpose spaces - an extension of homes
Trend 3: Greenhouses as status symbols
Trend 4: City-dwelling younger families rather than older, retired gardeners
Trend 5: Victorian style greenhouses & glasshouses
Trend 6: Environmental motivations for using greenhouses - grow your own organic and reduce plastic and food miles
All Hartley Botanic’s greenhouses and glasshouses are handmade, bespoke and made to order.
They are the only aluminium greenhouse manufacturer endorsed by the RHS.
