People from across Oldham are encouraged to enter the Home of the Year awards
The search is on to discover Oldham’s most beautiful home, as ‘Home of the Year’ 2019 is now open for entries.
Homeowners across Oldham are encouraged to enter the awards, organised by aluminium glazing specialist Express Bi-folding Doors.
Whether it’s a long-term renovation project or a recently acquired new-build, everything from quirky cottages to old fashioned farmhouses and modern mansions will be considered, before a public vote determines the final shortlist.
The diverse range of categories is designed to reflect that homeowners will have one room or extension shot that they are most proud of.
Homeowners can choose one or more of the following categories to enter:
Best kitchen
Best use of glazing
Best living space
Best bathroom
Best house exterior
The ‘best use of glazing’ category was prompted by Express’ research* into homeowner attitudes that revealed natural light is the key to North West homeowner happiness.
Sixty-seven-per-cent of residents in the North West claim it improves their mood and wellbeing all year round and 52-per-cent also value natural light greatly when buying their dream property.
Entrants must simply upload the photo of their favourite room or exterior shot to: www.expressbifolds.co.uk/home-of-the-year/ before midnight on December 17.
There will be a voting functionality added once the competition has closed and the entries with the most votes will be shortlisted and presented to an esteemed judging panel of home experts.
The winner will be announced in the new year and will receive £500 to spend at John Lewis.
Steve Bromberg, Managing Director at Express Bi-folding Doors, said: “After years of working on exceptional properties all over the country, we are excited to launch our very first ‘Home of the Year’ awards.
"Homeowners can spend years searching for their dream home, some may even have built and designed it themselves.
"Everyone’s taste is different so we can’t wait to see the variation of entries flood in from Oldham!”
