Four different faith communities - Hindu, Muslim, Jewish and Christian - will come together at the Queen Elizabeth Hall
Oldham will celebrate its annual Festival of Light next Tuesday, December 4, at 6.30pm.
Four different faith communities - Hindu, Muslim, Jewish and Christian - will come together at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in Oldham to learn about each other’s festivals of Diwali, Mawlid an Nabi, Chanukah and Christmas.
Attendees will celebrate with performances of song, music and dance.
This feast of different cultures has proved to be an extremely popular event over the years.
A brass band from Blue Coat School will be playing Christmas carols that will, for some, spark memories of Christmas past and assure a powerful continuing tradition.
Young Muslim Nasheed artists, Hindu dancers and a Filipino Christian choir will also provide positive evidence of an Oldham that is culturally rich in so many ways.
The event is free with a ticket that can be obtained from the Oldham Interfaith Forum.
You can either book on their website at: oldhaminterfaith.org.uk or by e-mail at: oif1events@gmail.com.
Alternatively, phone 0161 624 6733.
There are limits to the number of people who can attend, so tickets will be issued on a first come, first served basis.
