Emmaus Mossley volunteers get into the Christmas spirit
Homelessness charity, Emmaus Mossley, is inviting supporters to a Vintage Christmas Market at their Secondhand Superstore.
The Vintage Christmas Market event, taking place on Saturday week, November 17, will launch Emmaus’ Christmas display and include a range of festive stalls for all tastes and budgets.
Available at the event will be a wide selection of vintage and retro decorations, secret Santa gifts, presents for under a fiver and lots of reusable Christmas trees.
Gary, one of the people who lives and works at Emmaus Mossley, said: “I am really looking forward to the Christmas event and seeing all the happy, smiling faces who visit us at this time of year.”
In addition to the Christmas-themed stalls, the Collectables Room will be open and Santa will be visiting Emmaus’ Secondhand Superstore from 2pm.
To help get you in the Christmas spirit, Lucie's Café will serve lots of festive food and drinks throughout the day.
Hazel Hodkinson, Retail Manager at Emmaus Mossley, said: “This year we are keen to promote the idea of ‘a pre-loved Christmas’ – reusing perfectly good quality items instead of buying new ones.
"Whether you are looking to decorate your home, find unique presents at a great price or looking for additional dining chairs, Emmaus Mossley has the lot!”
Emmaus Mossley supports 26 formerly homeless people by providing them with a home and work in a community setting.
The charity runs a social enterprise in Mossley, selling donated and upcycled furniture, household goods, clothes and vintage wares.
All the proceeds from the Vintage Christmas Market will support the people who live and work at Emmaus.
The Vintage Christmas Market will take place on Saturday week, from 9am to 4:30pm at Emmaus Mossley, Longlands Mill, Queen Street, Mossley OL5 9AH.
Emmaus has limited space for external stall-holders, but if you are interested in booking a stall please email: info@emmausmossley.org.uk
On the day Emmaus Mossley will also host a lantern making workshop at 1pm for the upcoming 12 Days of Mossley Christmas event.
The workshop is free to attend and open to all ages but children must be accompanied by adults.
Lantern makers will need to commit to taking part in the 12 Days of Mossley Christmas event on November 24.
