Good times ready to roll at the Cotton Rooms

A warm welcome awaits at the Cotton Rooms
Preston-born entrepreneur, Nages Karri, and the Cotton Rooms in Oldham have teamed up to create an events venue where the exceptional happens.
Nages, previously an active board member of the Telugu Community Association in Preston and a Consultant in International Business, has been looking to get involved with a venture that will be of benefit to a local community.
“I grew up going to a local social club with my late dad," Nages said.
"He spent most evenings meeting up with his friends for a pint and a game of dominos and this was a central hub for the community.
"Sadly, these social clubs and pubs are disappearing fast, which I believe is affecting the wellbeing and sense of togetherness of people within local communities."
Nages continued to enthusiastically explain that The Cotton Rooms are more than just a suite of functions rooms.
Nages and the partners have a vision of these rooms becoming an established entertainment venue for the Oldham community.
By having a modern concept built upon the values of yesteryear’s social clubs and pubs, it is helping communities to come together with celebrating their special moments, such as weddings and parties, dining experiences with friends and neighbours and a theatre of fun – whether that’s attending a cabaret/tribute act, local amateur production or a school’s presentation evening.
To introduce the community vibe at The Cotton Rooms, the partners have teamed up with The Glen Girls to present a monthly ‘Golden Cotton Club’, for the people of Oldham who are enjoying their golden years.
The grand opening will be launched by the Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Javid Iqbal, on Thursday, November 22, between 12-4pm.
The afternoon will include a fish, chips and peas lunch, tea/coffee and biscuits, a prize raffle and 60’s rock and roll themed entertainment with special guests.
