Assad Ullah - a chef from the Yolo Burger and Milkshake restaurant in Oldham - sang to millions at the weekend in the Just Eat X Factor ad breaks.

Just Eat, proud sponsors of The X Factor, put the magic makers of the business – its 29,000 restaurant partners, which serve more than 100 different types of cuisines – at the heart of The X Factor ad breaks.

The fun video clips shine a spotlight on the local restaurant talent and show that every time you swipe the app to order a takeaway, you put a spotlight on the takeaway restaurants.

The restaurant staff then perform their unique talent, showcasing the flair that goes into creating and delivering a perfect takeaway night in.

Each performance is full of glam and sparkle, feeling like The X Factor Live Final, with the show’s presenter Dermot O’Leary as the voiceover artist.

The star chefs and delivery drivers were chosen following a rigorous audition process, which followed a not too dissimilar format to The X Factor’s selection process.

The first stage was an online video entry, calling for takeaway staff who could entertain.

Performers pulled out all the stops to get Just Eat’s attention, including chef Assad who blew the Just Eat judges away with his stellar performance of Get Your Shake On – a song he wrote and composed about the milkshake menu at Yolo Burger and Milkshake Bar.

Assad is no stranger to performing, he first discovered his passion for music four years ago when he wrote and performed a sentimental piece of music at his sister’s wedding.

Assad composes songs in his spare time and recently produced his own music video.

Assad delighted viewers by singing Feel the Love by Rudimental and Down with the Trumpets by Rizzle Kicks.

The ident featured Assad amongst a dramatic setting of flame pyrotechnics, bringing a blazing performance while singing his heart out.

Assad said: “Music is a passion of mine and I’m always making music and writing so I took the news in my stride.

"I wrote the song for the auditions as I felt it was the best way to show my talents and it paid off.”

Throughout the series, Just Eat will be offering customers exclusive access to The X Factor, including behind the scenes content and ticket giveaways.
