The team from HPP prepare for their big challenge
The ‘Hills Angels’ team of staff from Oldham furniture components manufacturer Hills Panel Products (HPP) hope to raise £1,000 for Cancer Research UK after completing the recent Pretty Muddy obstacle course.
The team entered the recent charity 5km challenge at Manchester’s Heaton Park which was part of the Race for Life events held by Cancer Research UK to raise money for research into 200 types of cancer.
The HPP team completed the challenge and included Angela Hodgson, Michelle Topping, Tina Crossley, Nicole Aspinal, Caroline Barker, Carol Sadworth, Tracy Lees, Jessica Smith and Anna Hennessey.
Jessica, aged 20, said: “Pretty Muddy was a fun, memorable day for all involved, raising money for a very worthwhile cause that unfortunately affects many people, directly and indirectly.
“We’ve had great support from HPP staff, trade customers and the public, and hope to reach the final total of £1,000.
"We are still able to accept donations to any team member or through our page on the Cancer Research UK website.
"All donations are welcome, no matter the amount, and will go towards making a difference to those who need it the most.”

HPP team members prepared for Pretty Muddy in their spare time.
Their training ranged from visiting the gym to going for walks.
Pretty Muddy and Race For Life events are designed for women of all ages and abilities, with the 5km distance being ideal for beginners.
Women can enter in teams or as individuals and run or walk.
