Saddleworth Museum is hosting a number of events during Archaelogy August
Saddleworth Museum will be celebrating its ancient artefacts by giving you some to take home!
This summer, Saddleworth Museum is giving visitors the opportunity to try their hand at an ancient way of life in a selection of archaeology themed craft activities.
From 1pm to 4pm on August 7, a medieval tile printing session will take place.
Then, inspired by the museum’s own collection of Roman artefacts, there is Roman slab-built pot making on August 14 and the chance to make your own ancient perfume on August 21.
The museum, set beside the Huddersfield Canal in Uppermill, features extensive local history archives and galleries detailing Saddleworth’s development through the years, including displays such as the walk-in Victorian parlour.
The Takeaway Tuesday craft events are free with museum admission, and there is no need to book.
