Failsworth's very own John Dodd turned 100 years old on July 6.
He received a telegram from the Queen and celebrated with his family and friends at the Boat and Horses pub/restaurant in Chadderton.
A keen former bowler who has lived in Failsworth throughout his life, John always drove for a living, and regularly chauffered the big chiefs from Failsworth firm Hubron around for many years.

John is a big fan of Coalshaw Green Park in Chadderton, and used to spend many happy hours there.
He attended every day for 17 years and was a keen and enthusiastic member of the Friends of Coalshaw Green Park.
Alongside his friend Barbara Wilson MBE, they helped rejuvenate the park and oversaw the cafe opening in 1998.
Congratulations, John!
