A musical feast for the Saddleworth Show crowds

Visitors to the recent Saddleworth Show enjoyed some great entertainment with a range of musical acts on stage from 10am right through to the close at 6pm.
Highlights included the famous Juba do Leao drumming band, with their exotic costumes and spectacular mix of Brazilian inspired music and dance.
They were complemented by crowd favourites the Rock Choir, Baby Ballet, Blades and Mahdlo singers players and dancers, Suzi’s School of Performing Arts, the Blues and Band Club and the U3A Ukelele Group.
In the Young Performers’ Showcase, Adjudicator Clara Darcy, well-known for her celebrated performances in Chicago and Brassed Off among many others, complimented the performers for ‘giving us the best array of talent ever’ and trophies were awarded to the Saddleworth Dancers, the Oldham Music Centre’s Electric Guitar Group (EGG 2) and Jubacana.
Director of the showcase, Mel Farrar, said: “This year’s exceptional line-up fully met our expectations and visitors to the show had a brilliant musical experience throughout the day."
