Scouts and brownies line-up after their epic litter pick
Oldham Councillor Ginny Alexander, the Deputy Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Services, organised a litter pick with St Thomas' Church, Moorside, for local scouts and brownies.
A great deal of litter was cleared from around Sholver and Moorside, and as the pickers were walking round in the hot weather, numerous people thanked the children for their efforts.
Councillor Alexander said: "I have provided funding for their certificates and badges for working on the environment.
"The scouts and brownies did a brilliant job and I was very proud of them all.
"They worked very hard in the heat, and deserved the refreshments provided after almost two hours of litter picking.
"I hope this will help send a message out that it is not acceptable to throw litter or rubbish on the floor.
"Put it in a bin."
