Gearing up for fifth Mossley SOUP event

A full house at a recent Mossley SOUP event
After the success of the first four Mossley SOUP community crowdfunding dinners, the organisers are inviting supporters down to the next event on Thursday, June 7.
Mossley SOUP aims to bring the community together to promote, fundraise and support local projects that benefit the people of Mossley.
For a donation of £5, diners receive soup, bread, hear four project presentations and then vote for their favourite idea.
Each presenter will get four minutes to share their idea and an opportunity to answer four questions from the audience.
The winning project idea receives all of the money raised on the night to carry out their project.
Past events have raised between £540 and £825.
The fifth Mossley SOUP dinner is planned for Thursday week from 6.30pm at Longlands Mill on Queen Street, home to Emmaus Mossley.
The four projects appealing for support will be Children's Theatre in the MOAT, Monday Social Club for Disabled Adults, Mossley Action For Elderly and Mossley Community Orchard.
The event will also include guest speakers, live music and a raffle with prizes including a signed Manchester United shirt and meal vouchers for Dinnerstone Uppermill and the White Hart at Lydgate.
Mossley SOUP is organised by local resident volunteers with support from Mossley Town Council, The Mayor of Mossley and Emmaus Mossley.
Previous Mossley SOUP winners are Mossley Horticultural Show, Save Our Community Spaces (SOCS), Tots R Us Playgroup and Mossley Town Team Stewards.
