First Choice Homes set up Rapid ROCA back in 2015
First Choice Homes hosted a special networking event for groups who recently received small funding grants from their Rapid ROCA (Respect Our Community Awards) scheme.
They also announced details of their next Rapid ROCA event; where other community groups can apply for a cash boost of up to £500.
First Choice Homes set up Rapid ROCA back in 2015 to help community groups around Oldham to support them with their projects.
Groups who had received funding in the last round of Rapid ROCA included Spotlight Theatre Group, Sholver Community Group and Saddleworth Carers.
They came together to share what they do for the community in a special networking event at First Choice Homes headquarters.
The next Rapid ROCA event will be taking place on May 15 at First Choice Homes headquarters, First Place.
The event will be held as a drop in session between 10am-6pm for people to attend and apply for funding.
Groups wanting to apply for funding should bring along their ideas and costings.
This time the event will be looking to help two types of groups.
Funding will be awarded to projects supporting women from around the town, and groups with a focus on training, skills and education.
Joanne White, Funding Assistant and organiser of the Rapid ROCA events, said; ‘I am so pleased that we are able to hold another Rapid ROCA event this year.
"We thought that it would be a great way to mark the centenary of the women’s vote by doing something for the women of today.
"This event also gives us the opportunity to highlight projects that will help people train and learn, and help us to continue creating thriving communities in Oldham."
