The Age UK shop in Royton urgently needs the help of the local community to help it raise much-needed funds
Throughout this month, the Age UK shop in Royton urgently needs the help of the local community to help it raise much-needed funds to support the charity’s work with older people.
To do this, everyone in Royton is being urged to donate their unwanted quality items to the shop, making sure they ask the Shop Manager to sign up to Gift Aid when they do.
Gift Aid is a fantastic way for Age UK to make donations go further and in turn make later life better, as it increases the value of donations by 25%.
All people need to do is fill in a simple Gift Aid form when they take their donations to the shop which takes less than a minute.
It is free to sign up and you only have to do it once; the only requirement is that you are a UK tax payer.
Signing up to Gift Aid means that Age UK will receive an extra 25p for every £1 that is raised from donations from the government.
That extra money helps raise much-needed funds for people in later life.
Age UK shops are reliant on the kind donations of the local community to keep the shelves stocked.
The shop accepts quality donations such as clothing, accessories, household items, books and toys, all of which are sold on to be loved again, helping to fund the Charity’s work including its free advice line (open 365 days a year), campaigns and support for Age UK’s network of local partners who provide essential services in their communities.
Please call into the Age UK Market Square store in Royton to sign up to Gift Aid this month.
One of the team will provide you with a Gift Aid form and will be happy to give you further information about the scheme if required.
