A scene from the Oldham Carnival back in the Alexandra Park days
Locally-based charity and community groups, who wish to book stall space at the forthcoming Oldham Carnival Community Festival, are urged to book as soon as possible to ensure their spot.
The festival, which has now moved permanently to the town centre (from its orininal venue at Alexandra Park), will take place on Saturday, June 23, between 10am and 5pm.
"There will be limited spaces," said event director, Paul Davies.
"We have negotiated with the council to allow stalls along High Street, Henshaw Street, Parliament Square and in front of the Old Town Hall."
Groups who book space must be non-profit making.
They will only be allowed 3.5m x 3.5m and cannot park vehicles with stall (a special parking area for all stall holders is being arranged).
Those community and charity groups wishing to book should do so via the carnival website: http://www.oldhamcarnival.org.uk/stalls.html
Activities at the event this year will include lots of free activities for kids in the Parish Church grounds, live music from budding local talent on stage in Parliament Square, the UK Dance Troupes competition and fairground rides.
