Dave McNeill celebrates Saddleworth's first ace of 2024
Saddleworth Golf Club has a good record of members notching holes-in-one on their tricky par threes, and the first ace of 2024 came from Dave McNeill.
Dave, 6.8 handicap, was partnering Brian Lawton in a Pro’s BB Stableford when he holed his tee shot on the fifth hole to the noisy delight of his playing partners.
It helped them to 43 points and a creditable eighth place, and Dave also won £70 in pro shop credit for his ace.
The competition was won by Peter Gill and Steve Leigh with 48 points from Graham Bearpark and Tony Head, who won a cpo on 46 from Gary Chadderton and Graham Hall.
